Carling cup

Well last night was a complete wash out as im sure most are aware. I should say fog out really as this was the reason the game between Arsenal V Liverppol had been called off. I had been looking forward to watching and having a punt on it all day as well.

Tonight saw the second 2 quarter finals in the Carling cup and the live game was Newcastle V Chelsea. Easy money really trading on unders 2.5 goals, again another i should have let run and would have won £200 but i layed off regularly trading in and out to work a profit of £101.

This lifts my bank to £859

Greek football

Well firstly im glad im not from Greece. I couldnt cope with having to watch there football week in week out. It would bore me to tears. Mind you, while im at work it beats doing any proper work i suppose.

Todays game from league 2 Messiniakos V Thrasivoulos and i had decided it was going to be overs. Trading in at the begining i was £148 green on unders and was going to let it run. The first goal came late in the first half and the odds spiked back out again. I was going to get back in for more but didnt and let my bet ride again when another goal went in with about 20 minutes to go. I laid off 10 minutes before the whistle for a profit of £106.

Happy with that even though if id let it go i would have won more. Better to be risk free though as it gt hairy for some late on in the game.

Overall bank £758

Mug!

Again!! When i started this the aim was to stop mug betting and make a profit, so why do i keep doing it. Todays selection a double on Chelsea and United with United letting me down and me ending up £100.

If anyone is close to stoke on trent who could threaten me with nailing a mug sign to my head if i do it again would you let me know please.

Anyway, back to doing it properly tonight on the NFL. First game Chicago v Tampa Bay and a profit locked in of £45. Not bothering with the New York V Philly game as im a Giant myself and loyalty is blinding so im staying out may have a go on the late game il see.

Overall daily loss of £55 and a bank now of £652

Apologies for my absence

Well the title says it all. I have been really busy again Thursday and Friday this week and i havnt been able to get online either for a bet or to post on here.

Ok excuses aside let me tell you what i have been betting on first of all on Friday.

With not being able to get online i had to bet via betfair mobile on Friday and it began quite well. While listening to the cricket, particularly Ponting and Hayden hitting the fifties early friday morning i decided to have a look at the odds for just that, players to hit a 50 while they were both in there 40's.

There was money available but it was only a 1.01 shot and with them still having to knock 10 runs it wasnt worth it. Once Ponting moved to 52 i looked again. Low and behold a person not managing his position. The 1.01 was still there. Free money even if it wasnt a lot £1.19 after commision but then again i did the same with Hayden so a profit of £2.38 before 9am.

Good start. School boy error later. During the football i couldnt watch the match so was punting blind but decided the unders would be fine. Backing and laying off 7 pence lower. Not a great profit but £7 while your doing your food shopping i thought was good. Anyway the school boy error bit? The first bet hadnt been matched and i hadnt noticed. Cost me £28.

At the end of friday my balance stood at £604, a bit of a hit in a few days.

Onto Saturday. Nothing to do, couldnt be bothered to go to watch Stoke in Colchester (thank god, they lost 3-0). 2 Matches on Prem plus and the 3 o clock kick offs to play with and all day in i was hoping for a reasonably good return today putting the small loss of the week behind me.

First game up Liverpool V Charlton and it should of been 10-2 to Liverpool but it ended 3-0. Managed to get myself in a mess in the Over 2.5 market after the early goal and was £95 but i waited until half time and lumped on 2 goals or more locking in £134 win and £39 profit on the game.

Out of the 3 o clock games i looked at and fancied Newcastle to beat Watford with the ability to lay it off if needs be with the game going in play. Backed Newcastle to win and when they went 1-0 up laid off and saved my arse from going in the final ten minutes when the game was at 1-1 and others were still locked into the game. £56 profit on this one.

Next was Villa V Bolton a nailed on draw for me which i backed. The game was diabolical, really awful to watch and nobody looked like winning it. Not long into the game i laid off so didnt have to suffer it. Could of and should of waited longer only locking in £8 profit but i didnt have to watch the really rubbish game and i probably would have been tempted to let it run with the game ending 1-0 Bolton.

Over Friday profit £103. Overall bank £707.

Long post this but that will teach me to make them more regularly.

Small punt

Well today was always going to be a difficult one for me in terms of have a bet of any significance so i didnt really get long to have a good look for anything interesting.

I ended up just having a small punt on a Chelsea win and Aresenal/Wigan draw double. It would have been a nice little earner bar a 87th minute goal for Arsenal but thats the way it go's.

Today i have lost just £20 and my bank is now £630.

Hopefully il get a better chance for a bet tomorrow.

Quiet day.

Well today has been quiet for me in gambling terms. I have been very busy with work rushed off my feet all day so no chance for me to have a bet during the day but i wasnt to bothered what with the football that was on this evening.

Tonight brought us a few games all replays in the FA Cup. I focussed my attentions on the live game that was on Sky, Forrest V Salisbury.

The odds were very short on Forrest at the start of the game but i was sure Forrest were not going to win this game so i backed them. When the goal went in i greened out as i had prior experience of this game earlier in this blog and Salisbury equalised.

Forrest went on to make it 2-0 so i should of let it ride but a £51 is a profit none the less.

Overall bank £651

Not sure whether or not there will be much chance for me to have a bet tomorrow due to my
Nephews first nativity play so that will be me tomorrow night but we will see in the day.

Stay true to my convictions

Well today was a bit of an on off day really and the title sums that up pretty well.

It started last night/early morning with the NFL really. I had New Orleans down as a bit of a banker and if i had of stayed with my convictions there was money to be made on this one. Oh well, it didnt lose me anything just missed out on potential green.

Early afternoon and i had chosen my first football action for the day Thrasivoulos V Agrotikos. Strange one i know from Greece division 2 but i fancied unders and was on it. First of all from the start before laying off for all green at half time, then getting back in when one goal went in until the end letting it ride for more. The game ended 0-1 and i ended £108.

Later the Premiership game Villa V Sheffield and i fancied unders, however my convictions told me to leave it alone this game couldnt be picked. I went for it anyway and 2 minutes in Villa were 1 up. Great. I sweated on it until around the half hour malk when i decided there were more goals in this so i layed off for an all red position costing me £30.

Overall today i ended £78 and a total bank of £599. Also i need to start listening to start following my convictions.

Out of practice

Isnt it amazing how when your away from doing this for a few days you become a little out of practice. I cant make my mind up whether this was out of practice with my judgment or with my trading but either way i was £100 after the Chelsea V Arsenal game was over.

The NFL provided a nice enough option to earn some of my money back for me tonight though starting with Baltimore @ Kansas City. This made me £10 a nice start to my nights NFL trading.

Later Denver @ San Diego allowed me to get £65 on any result which was a good earner. This gave me the oppurtunity though to get back in on another market for this game earning me another £13.

All told i managed to finish today £12 not a good result but it served to get me back in the swing of things ahead of another NFL game tonight and football tomorrow. Overall my bank now stands at £521

Where have i been?

Sorry to any regular readers, if i have any, that i have not been around for a few days. There has been numerous reasons for this. First off all i missed the champions league action on Wednesday due to a family meal so didnt get the bets on i wanted hey hum. Thursday there was nothing i could find to bet on. There was the NFL but friday was an important day so i had to go to bed.

Friday morning i purchased a Nintendo Wii because i am a bit of a computer games geek as well. So you can tell where my Friday went, up in the air playing games, namely Zelda (very good game) all day.

Yesterday i had a punt and was looking for a banker because while at the match i couldnt lay the bet off so i backed Birmingham to beat Preston. In my eyes it was nailed on and i think Preston are one of a few pretenders at the top of the championship at the moment. I only risked £50 (wish i had risked more) and earned £44.

This lifts my total up to £533 and today i have football and the NFL to play with so i will let you know about that later.

Easier night

Well having been scratching last night for bets with there only being one game tonight was a feast with the Champions League and League football all in action.

I decided to trade on the Barca V Bremen game and by 20 minutes in i was £69 on all outcomes with only a maximum of £90 if i hadnt layed of so for the sake of £20 it seemed the safest option.

Waitied till half time watching the game and then decided to dive in on the Bayern V Inter which was 0-0 at the time and traded into a £1 profit when the final result was a draw. Not as much as i wanted but certainly better than a loss of £320 which i was in at one point and then £11 later before the equaliser.

Overall a profit of £70 sending my balance to £489

Another night of football to look forward to tomorrow and hopefully another nights profit. Heres hoping.

Monday, December 4

Great start to the week.

With only one football game live on the TV tonight and no other sports really in action I was scratching for a bet really tonight.

However after much head scratching I managed to find my bets.

I ended up walking away with £35 on the match result after some good trading. Ended up a pretty dull game but in the end the result didn’t really matter thanks to some good trading and a profit being locked in.

I also managed to sneak £2 out of the bookings index which I was on again despite the £22 from the other day.

Those results have lifted my overall bank up to £419.

Not bad after an official week of doing this since last Tuesday.

Sunday, December 3

Good profit with a sweat.

Well today has been a pretty good one for me in terms of profit earning me £85 and boosting my overall bank up to £382.

It wasn’t without a great deal of sweating though.

Earlier in the day I watched and began trading on the Forrest game backing Forrest to win and then laying off just after they scored giving me a potential profit of £41 if Forrest could win and £22 on the draw and Salisbury win. Well similar to the Barca result last night what I wanted to happen and thought would happen didn’t but again a tidy profit.

I had decided that that would be me for the day but the opportunities for Real Madrid to close the gap on Barca led me to believe they would be a good bet. Again I thought id back them and lay them off when they were winning. Them going 1-0 wasn’t in the script.

From then on I was sweating big time with my whole bank dependent on how they came out in the second half. They did make it 2-1 and I layed off very quickly locking in a profit of £63.

Overall a good day but lessons in not using my whole bank can be taken from the day or this journey could come to an end much much sooner than I want it to.

Head not Heart!

Well today has been a fine example of the title of the thread for me. Nothing major thankfully and i still managed to make a profit on the day of £0.90. Better than nothing.

Today started badly and was always going to anyway when i had to be up and out for 11.30am having been up all night watching the cricket. On my way out of the door my heart kicked in and i backed Stoke to beat Coventry. They didnt £20 good start.

When i got back from Coventry my head started working and the Barcelona game provided an escape route from the losing day. Backing Barca to win and then laying them off at 1-0 up just after half time meant i could go all green with £20.90 being the minimum i could win on the draw or Lavante. Lavante equalised but better than losing if i had stayed on.

Overall i think today is lesson learnt and mistakes i hopefully wont be repeating in this long journey.

Thats Better

Well not a bad way to end my day having just taken £19.47. Thanks to getting on The over 2.5 goals market and Oldham win, laying them both off just after Oldham scored there first goal.

The only downer on my results on the football tonight being a £22 lost onthe bookings index. I fancied the game getting a little niggly but it didnt. No worrys a profits a profit.

Overall for the day my profit stands at £20.87 and my over bank is now at £297 having started with £100 tuesday.

Great stuff. Off to get some more shut eye before tonights cricket. Whether i have a punt or not is another matter.

Relatively Unscathed

The Davis Cup match between Safin and Nalbandian has just finished and todays £10 profit has been left deminished at £1.40

Still this is better than a loss but my trading seems to be letting me down a little today. Whether its the tiredness from last nights cricket and NFL im not sure but it isnt going to well so im looking for my bankers for tonights games so that i dont have to trade to make money.

Was debating giving it a miss for the rest of the day but studying tonights matches i cant really resist the oppurtunities.

A couple of hours shut eye now before the live game kicks off and i should be fine to make it through the night for tonights cricket.

Good start. Just!

Well after a long night being up watching the cricket and the NFL i have managed to start my day with £10 before i woke up. It dosnt seem like much but trading mistakes left me at one point all red, and then at the point of greening out, £123 on Baltimore and £46 Cincinnati.

As it happened i would have been better to let it run and i would have taken the £46 but having made mistakes earlier in the night i wanted to lock in some guranteed profit and get some shut eye during the lunch session of the ashes.

Also glad i managed to dodge the bullet in terms of the ashes once the same England side was named. I was going to back the Aussies and lay off once they were winning which seemed a pretty good bet at the time. Really glad i missed that as they have drifted as far as 2.8 now where i would have only been backing them around 1.5

Well just got up in time to still see some of the Davis Cup so heres hoping for a bit of profit there ahead of Oldham Kings Lynn tonight.

Good Luck everybody.

Thursday, November 30

A betting free day.

Once again today i havnt been able to have a bet due to circumstances beyond my control. Having been at work all day and only just getting in.

Still i have the cricket to look forward to, a long night ahead, so there will probably be some profit in that for me but im still not sure whether to have a bet or not due to leaving me with a very small bank if i have to leave the money in for any length of time.

Also Baltimore take on Cincinnati tonight in the NFL and this might be worth saving my money to play with on this and wait until tomorrow night for a punt on the cricket.

All of this is going to be in tomorrows profit or loss though and not todays. Ah well it could be worse, i could of lost.

Here Goes Nothing

Ok well i suppose 20 is a little young to be thinking about a career change but i have given this a lot of thought. Ever since i found Betfair i have thought of nothing else other than one day maybe making a living out of my gambling and here i go.

I wont be giving up my job just yet so i guess i am part time for the moment until i begin earning enough money to quit.

I am starting this blog to detail all my wins & losses, highs & lows and hopefully my change in life.

Yesterday was the first day i decided to start this seriously a deposited £100 into my account. I know how to trade on betfair but i know there is no way i am going to earn a living trading with £100 for a long time so am trying to build this up. Last night saw my first win Stoke to beat Cardiff which they did 3-0. My account is already showing a profit of £177.

No bets for me today as i cant watch the games and lay off in play and to many times before i have squandered money on straight win bets.

So here goes, lets see where this can take me.
